Orchestra of Cinematography USSR - Dochki-Materi soundtrack

One of the forgotten composition of Orchesrtra of Cinematography USSR directed by none other than George Garanian. It was recorded for "Dochki-Materi" soviet movie in 1974 and seems that had never been released. These sounds remind The Melodiya Ensamble for that we so like them.

Aleksandr Zatsepin - Shurik's Adventures soundtrack

Aleksandr Zatsepin is Russian compositor who has written music for more than 70 soviet and russian movies. He became famous in 1965 after creating compositions for "Operation 'Y' and Other Shurik's Adventures" (Операция „Ы“ и другие приключения Шурика) comedy film, directed by Leonid Gaidai. It's popularity led to a sequel "A she-prisoner of the Caucasus, or Shurik's New Adventures" (Кавказская пленница, или Новые приключения Шурика) a year after again with Zatsepin scores.
To support film comedian nature music itself is quite rhythmic involves bayans, balalaikas, vocals, whistles, other undefined instruments.

Three covers from soviet artists

1. Vocal group Gaya is originally from Azerbaijan. This country (at that time part of Soviet Union) has produced many great artists and musicians. In 60's Gaya started as vocal quartet but this song recorded in 1977 by vocal sextet with band accompanied behind.
Here is a cover version of Whirlwinds written by Deodato

ВИА Гая - Бразильская композиция

2. Georgian state orchestra "Rero" performs L-Dopa written by Keith Mansfield and performed before by Maynard Ferguson Big Band. It is difficult to find any information about Georgian band. But the record which I got is quite good. Maybe later I will write another post about them.

Guido Manusardi Quartet with the Laurenziana "G. D'Amato" Chorus - Velvet Soul (1986, Splasс(H))

I have not heard this kind of fusion, which probably may only emerge in Italy. Especialy, this version of the Summertime very suspicious.
Lee Kinitz is playing here among italian jazzmans. Recorded in 1986 in Milan.

Here I have plans to post my thoughts about music. Rigth now I don't have any idea about the format. Maybe it will be formed lately.
My interests in music quite wide and I don't have any preferences for the basic theme for this blog. I know what most interesting (maybe consistent) music blogs are based on distinct themes. But I don't want build any contraints for myself. I am just fascinated by music.

Will see how far I get
